Boswell would provide an account to police of how the complainant in the case had an altercation with another party other than himself and that the injuries he sustained were inflicted by an unknown number of individuals who came out of the flat and assaulted him following this altercation .
The officer would read excerpts from the summary provided by the complainant in the case who alleged that Boswell had locked her in his property and assaulted her over a prolonged period of time with the court hearing how the injured party passed out due to a loss of blood and that she only made good her escape by fleeing through a broken kitchen window. After this she disclosed to the reporting party in the case that the person who assaulted her was called Boswell.
The court heard how given the level of injury sustained by the Injured party, which included injuries to hr face, head and eye sockets she had since had to attend appointments at several hospitals.
The police constable also detailed how Boswell was a defendant with 74 previous convictions to his name and that he has previously been arrested for breaches of bail on 14 occasions, with the complainant in the case being assessed as a high risk victim .
Opting to refuse bail in the case on the grounds of risk of Boswell breaching any bail conditions imposed by the court and that he is likely to interfere with the complainant District Judge Natasha Fitzsimons ordered that the case be taken for four weeks for a decision on November 18.
