Allegations relates to incident said to have occurred ten years ago

THE London Metropolitan police have confirmed it is their intention to question disgraced former DUP leader Jeffrey Donaldson regarding a further allegation of rape made against him. It is understood that this allegation is being made by the same woman who in June of this year claimed that in 2016 Donaldson sexually assaulted her by trying to kiss her and put his hand up her skirt whilst in his office.

Now it has emerged that this same woman has made an allegation of rape against the 63 year old. In a statement MET police confirmed that they had received a report from the PSNI regarding an allegation of rape said to have occurred ten years ago referred to them by the PSNI"On Tuesday 13 October, the Met received a report referred to us by the Police Service of Northern Ireland relating to an allegation of rape in 2016, by a man now aged 63.

"The allegation relates to one victim who is being supported by specialist officers.

"The investigation is in its early stages. No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing." Donaldson (63) of Dublinhill Road Dromore is now serving the opening days of what will be a 15 year sentence after having been found guilty of a series of child sex offences against two victims, including one count of rape, which took place between 1985 and 2008. The former MP for Lagan valley is seeking to appeal his convictions.
