Jonesborough man crashed car into central reservation

Defendant made full admissions to police at the scene
CRASHING his car into the central reservation of the A1 Carriageway Dublin Road Newry has resulted in a Jonesborough man receiving a period of disqualification from driving during a sitting of the local magistrates.
Facing a single charge of driving with excess alcohol before the court was Aleksanders Hahalev's (33) of Eden Tearrce , Jonesborough.
The court heard how at around 11pm on September 21 of this year police would respond to a report of a single road traffic collision which took place within the vicinity of the Dublin Road Newry. Upon arrival police would find a blue Kia Nero that had crashed into the central reservation of the road.
Present on the hard shoulder of the road was the defendant Hahalev's who made full admissions to driving whilst under the influence of alcohol at the scene.
Addressing the court defence counsel would explain how Hahalev's actions on the evening of September 21 were as the result of a relationship breakdown he was going through at the time and this was the reason why he was drinking that evening before getting into the car to drive.
Disposing of the case Deputy District Judge Archer would impose upon Hahalev a period of disqualification from driving for 14 months whilst imposing upon the Jonesborough man a fine of £400 affording him with 16 weeks in which to pay.
